Dishes are sorted into get this, add on, popular here and maybe skip. A match score appears only when it comes from your own taste, you see which friends had each dish and how they rated it, and when all Palytt knows is what’s popular, it says so.

What is Palytt?
Palytt is a free iPhone and iPad app that helps you decide what to order and where to eat. It scores dishes for your taste, builds an Order Guide for each restaurant that shows which friends had each dish, keeps a food journal of the dishes you’d order again, and gives your group a room to plan dinner and vote.
How does the Palytt match score work?
Palytt scores dishes from 0 to 100 for your taste, using your taste profile and your own verdicts on dishes you’ve had. In the Order Guide, a score appears only when it’s based on your taste; friends’ ratings are shown beside it, and when all Palytt knows is what’s popular, it says “Popular here” instead of guessing. Scores of 80 and above are a great match, and Pal adds a one-line reason. Learn more about how taste matching works.
How does Palytt help me decide what to order?

Can Palytt scan a menu or a receipt?
Yes. At the table, scan the menu and Palytt ranks its dishes for your taste. After the meal, scan your receipt: Palytt reads it on your iPhone (the photo isn’t uploaded or stored), matches what you ordered, and lets you mark each dish “I’d order again” or “Skip next time.” You can also share an order card with up to three dishes.
Can I plan a group dinner with Palytt?

What are dish drift alerts?
When recent ratings of a dish you love start to slip—say, diners mention a thinner broth—Palytt marks it “May have changed” and lets you know. When a dish is getting better, it says “Better lately.”
What is Borrow a Palate?
Ask a friend to borrow their palate and you’ll see dishes ranked the way they’d order, which helps when they know a place better than you do. Your friend approves the request first.
What is my taste type?
Your taste type is a four-letter food personality, plus a Bold or Mellow flavor letter, from a free 20-question quiz. It’s just for fun and made to share; it doesn’t change your match scores.
Can I save places from Google Maps, Apple Maps or Instagram?
Yes. Paste links from Apple Maps, Google Maps, Instagram, Yelp and other apps, several at once, and Palytt saves the places to your Want to try list.
Does Palytt use Apple Intelligence?
Yes, on iPhones that support it. With iOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence turned on, Palytt uses Apple’s on-device model to suggest chat replies and comment ideas, so that text stays on your iPhone. It also writes caption and cuisine suggestions when Palytt’s servers can’t, such as when you’re offline. On other iPhones and iPads, the same suggestions come from Palytt’s servers. Match scores are always calculated the same way for everyone.
How long does it take to set up Palytt?
A couple of minutes. Three quick this-or-that questions give Palytt a first read on your taste, and it starts scoring dishes right away. Your saves, posts and verdicts make the picks sharper over time.
Do I need friends on Palytt?
No. Your taste profile, saves and verdicts shape your picks on their own. Friends add their ratings of specific dishes, which makes Order Guides richer.
How is Palytt different from Yelp or Google Maps?
Review and map apps rate whole restaurants and help you get there. Palytt works at the dish level: it scores each dish for your taste, tells you what to order, and helps a group agree. Many people use Palytt alongside them. Compare Palytt and Yelp, or compare Palytt and Google Maps.
